The 3rd Health Science International Conference (HSIC)

This collection contains selected papers from the 3rd Health Science International Conference held in Malang, Indonesia on 5th October 2022. This event was hosted by the Faculty of Health Science University of Muhammadiyah Malang, Indonesia.

The conference was held to bring together leading scholars and practitioners in medicine with the goal of reflecting on holistic patient care and support.

This KnE Medicine collection contains 40 peer-review papers that deal with the medical ailments of the everyday person. Researchers in this issue advocate for integration between Western and Eastern medicine to deliver cohesive treatment plans for people suffering from a wide range of issues. While Western medicine can provide immediate medical attention to life-threatening cases, Eastern medicine successfully develops sustainable treatment plans that aim to support the natural healing capabilities of the human body. Therefore, this collection aims to offer a balanced approach to patient care that blends practices from both medical traditions, providing holistic remedies for muscle pain, pregnancy, sleep disorders, and more.

2nd International Conference on Medical Health Science (2nd ICMEDH)

This collection contains selected papers from the 2nd International Conference on Medical Health Science held in Malang, East Java, Indonesia on the 4th of October 2022. This event was hosted by the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Health Science, University of Muhammadiyah Malang.

This KnE Medicine collection contains 61 peer-reviewed articles exploring the key challenges faced by education and medical sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic. These articles focus on determining states of resilience across several institutional and individual levels. By dealing with major themes including medical practices, social support, and mental health, these studies explore some of the ways in which COVID-19 exacerbated existing medical and mental health conditions experienced by people before and after contracting the virus. While the medical sector continues to take on a major role in safeguarding the health and well-being of those most affected, some of the articles in this issue also evaluate the role of families and social institutions in providing valuable support systems for vulnerable populations. This collection sheds light on the necessity of improving institutional collaboration across a web of actors, including government, private, medical, and society.

5th Riau International Nursing Conference (RINC)

This collection contains selected papers from the International research conference Riau International Nursing Conference held in Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia on the 5th of November 2022. This event was hosted by the Faculty of Nursing Universitas Riau.

The main goal of this conference was to investigate the self-efficacy and resilience of individuals from across the healthcare industry, be they medical students, nursing staff, or patients and their families.

This KnE Medicine collection contains 20 peer-reviewed papers that explore the successes and challenges of the Indonesian healthcare system and looks at approaches which can empower its stakeholders. The aftermath of the pandemic continues to foreground the importance of developing operationally productive and compassionate medical environments for staff and patients alike. Reflecting this, this collection of articles evaluates the influence of technology in reducing the time-poverty of the medical labour force and considers on the value of community in times of hardship.

This collection contains selected papers from the International Conference of Medicine and Health (ICMEDH) which was held online on Zoom on the 24th of September 2021. This event was hosted by the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Health Science, University of Muhammadiyah Malang.

The 4th International Seminar on Global Health (ISGH4)

This collection contains selected papers from the 4th International Seminar on Global Health held in Cimahi, Indonesia on the 28th of October 2021. This event was hosted by the School of Health Science Jenderal Achmad Yani (currently the Faculty of Health Science and Technology).

The International Online Seminar Series on Periodontology in conjunction with Scientific Seminar

This collection contains selected papers from NaSSiP 6: The International Online Seminar Series on Periodontology in conjunction with a Scientific Seminar held online in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on the 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th and 29th of August 2021. This event was hosted by the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada.

This conference was held to discuss the latest developments in periodontology and the challenges and complications associated with these. The conference brought together members of the Indonesian Society of Periodontology (IPERI) and periodontal enthusiasts to discuss how these challenges can impact the treatment approach, and the scientific and technological improvements needed to overcome these.

This KnE Medicine collection contains 39 peer-reviewed papers. Some researchers examine the rapid progress witnessed over recent years in the field of periodontology, and why there is a need for refining treatment protocols based on clinical expertise and solid research. The 6th Congress of the Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproduction (ASPIRE 2016)
